POLICE are warning citizens against vigilante justice after a 22-year-old man was stabbed in his head and suffered a broken arm after his neighbours intervened in a domestic situation.
Police were told that around 8.15 a.m. on Sunday, the man was at his girlfriend’s home in Building 20, Maloney Gardens, when they got into an argument. It was said that the two were shouting and exchanging profanities at each other.
Her neighbours, concerned for the woman, came to check on her and found the two fighting.
However, their attempts to part the two resulted in a group of men attacking the 22-year-old. The victim was beaten about his body and stabbed in the head. He reportedly suffered a broken arm as a result of the ordeal.
After the suspects left, the victim was taken to the Arima Hospital where he was treated.
Officers of the Maloney Police Station responded and questioned several people.
