While the public may think they know all of the disturbing crimes that embattled American singer R. Kelly has been found guilty of, there are new alarming allegations surrounding his children.
One of his daughters, Joann Kelly, also known as Buku Abi, is ready to tell her story in an upcoming documentary called, R Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey.
Joann appears to allege in the new documentary that the singer, who is currently in jail, did something inappropriate and heartbreaking while she was a child.
In the film, Joann reveals the untold and “heartbreaking secret” of her childhood as the daughter of one of music’s most notorious figures.
In the trailer of the documentary, she tearfully admits,
“For a long time I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person that he would do something to me. I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life.”
She also speaks about how she plans to approach her past with her own child.
“If my son asks questions, I am going to be as truthful as possible, but I will not be taking my son to a prison to meet his grandfather.”
Also in the documentary trailer circulating online, the singer’s ex wife, Drea Kelly, is also seen crying about what he allegedly did to their kids. She said:
“What he did to me, he did to me. Shouldn’t have to do it to my damn kids.”
“What he has done to those kids, there is no other words for them. He’s a monster,”
a voice is heard saying in the trailer.
Kelly’s career took a bad turn in 2019 following his arrest and subsequent convictions on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges involving sexual abuse of minors.
