Jack White is set to give his album ‘No Name’ an official release.
The record began as a mystery – shop assistants at Third Man outlets began surreptitiously placing unmarked vinyl in customers bags, encouraging them to play it at home.
Lucky fans were soon entranced – was this a brand new Jack White album…?
As it turns out, yes it was. Owners of the limited vinyl discs were encouraged to rip the audio and place it online, and CLASH reviewer Karan Singh applauded the move:
A mad scientist who is incapable of being boring, Jack White has been rallying the troops and sticking it to the man for years. His latest album, it is safe to say, might just be his campaign’s biggest win thus far.
Now the album is gaining an official release. ‘No Name’ will be available on streaming from August 2nd, alongside a full vinyl edition.
A blue indie vinyl edition will be available in Third Man Records retail stores on Thursday (August 1st) and in select independent record stores across the world the following day. ‘No Name’ will also be available on black vinyl via thirdmanrecords.com and jackwhiteiii.com; pre-orders begin Friday, (August 2nd).
A testament to his industrious nature, ‘No Name’ was recorded, produced, and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio throughout 2023 and 2024, pressed to vinyl at Third Man Pressing, and released by Third Man Records.
