Subsequently, the Fulham star deleted all the images on his official Instagram page after the AFCON final.

Although Iwobi played for 79 minutes in the match, his performance drew scrutiny, and he was substituted by Alhassan Yusuf in the final 10 minutes.

Expressing his thoughts on Twitter via his X account, Regha wrote: “The AFCON 2023 tournament has concluded; it’s time to move forward. Let’s cease the harassment directed at Alex Iwobi or any member of the Super Eagles team. It’s essential to remember that it’s just a match and a trophy.

“This toxic conduct contributes to why some players opt not to represent Nigeria in tournaments. While we protest against oppression, we shouldn’t engage in actions that could lead individuals into depression when outcomes aren’t favorable. Let’s stop!”
