Friends, family and associates of Adedayo Faduyile, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have pledged to obtain the N50 million nomination form for him to contest in the forthcoming April 25th, 2024 Ondo state APC governorship primary election.

The leader of the group, Kenneth Benjamin, in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Akure, said it was imperative for Nigerians in diaspora to be actively involved in the growth and progress of the country.

According to them, the gesture was to support Faduyile’s political aspirations and to contribute their quota to the development of the state and nation at large.

He also said that the N50 million nomination form comes as a surprise birthday gift to celebrate the erudite scholar and former Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) President, Faduyile, who will be 52yrs on April 7, 2024.

To ensure the best candidate becomes the next governor of the state, he noted that they are paying the APC’s N10m Expression of Interest and N40m Nomination Forms as their own sacrifice to ensure that Ondo State shines again.

Benjamin disclosed that the group comprises Ondo State indigenes and non-indigenes in the U.S, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, South Africa, Nigeria and other parts of Africa that are passionate about the growth of the nation.

He noted that the primary objective of the group is to identify people who have intellectual capacity, honesty, prudence and proven character to support them to leadership positions.

“It is high time Nigerians in diaspora started participating actively in the day-to-day activities of our dear nation back home, not leaving politics out of it. In fact, it is very critical to development and we must be actively involved.

“We cannot continue to fold our hands to watch opportunists, political buccaneers and layabouts grab the rudders of leadership at the expense of competence, intellect and capacity. This has been our sad story for years,” he said.

Benjamin added that, “This explains why we all gathered and agreed to raise the nomination form money for one of our own, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, to be the next Governor of Ondo State and set the pace for other states to embrace cognate leadership and development.

“We cannot continue to watch as helpless and hapless Nigerians as our dear country is getting plundered by unqualified and people with dubious characters. The world, it is said, is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked but the weakness of the good that do nothing.”

He expressed confidence in the abilities and capacity of Faduyile, making references to his indelible achievements as NMA scribe and immediate past Special Adviser on health to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Similarly, Ondo state indigenes in the USA, under the aegis of Prof. Adedayo Faduyile Foundation (PAFF), through its coordinator, Eniafe Ogunbameru, passed a vote of confidence on Faduyile as the best and most qualified amongst the aspirants.

The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday rejoiced with Christians during this year’s Easter celebration, saying the season should be a period when Christians should rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in the overall interest of the citizenry.

The party also reminded Christians to remember to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his bold and genuine efforts to bail out the country from economic quagmire which hitherto had been retarding her development.

In a statement released by the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, he said it is a thing of joy and profound happiness that this year’s celebration is hitch-free.

In the words of the state APC chairman: “On behalf of my family, the state executive officers of our party and all the members of our party in Osun State, I am congratulating all the Christians for witnessing and celebrating this year’s Easter.

“This period should be the time to intensify our prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the political functionaries at the federal level especially the leader of our party in Osun State, former state Governor Adegboyega Oyetola now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for continuous God’s guidance.

“We should pray for the realisation of the collective political aspiration of all the genuine members of the APC in Osun State in 2026 in the interest of the provision of an ideal and good governance for the people of the state.

“It is very necessary for those who are abundantly blessed to remember to reach out to the less-privileged members of the society during the period of Easter.

“Christianity which is about love, co-operation, unity and peace should be the guiding principles of all the members and supporters in all our endeavours in our state.

“May our Christian brothers and sisters witness many more fruitful Easter celebrations in the land of the living In Jesus Name,” Lawal prayed.

APC suspends Women Leader over comments on Gov. Sani

The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its state women leader, Maryam Suleiman over comments on the Governor of the State, Senator Uba Sani.

The Governor had over the weekend taken a swipe at the former Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s administration on the huge debt left behind making it difficult for him to run the state effectively. This has since sparked controversies amongst party stakeholders on the relationship between the Governor and his predecessor.

Addressing stakeholders during a town hall meeting on saturday, Governor Sani said he inherited a debt burden of $587 million, N85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities from the El-Rufai administration, a situation which he said has made the present government unable to pay workers salaries due to deductions from the federal allocation.

The Women Leader was one of those who decided to make her stand known by shooting a video and expressing her opinion on the matter.

In the video she made in the Hausa language, the APC women leader criticised Governor Sani’s statement on the huge debt burden left behind by former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration.

She accused Governor Sani of maladministration and warned him to stop blaming El-rufai for his failure. Reacting to her video, a suspension letter dated March 31st, signed by the APC chairman and secretary of Badarawa/Malali ward, Ali Maishago and Zakkah Bassahuwa respectively, says the women leader was suspended for allegedly defaming the character of Governor Uba Sani, and unauthorised publicity of the party’s dispute that discredited the personality of the governor.

She was alleged to have sent thugs to attack the political adviser to the governor, Manzo Maigari.

The letter noted that the women leader’s action is against Article 21, 2 (v) of the APC constitution. The party said the suspension is indefinite pending the investigation into the allegations.
