Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Chairman Teofilo Guadiz 3rd on Monday warned that the agency will cancel the franchise of protesting drivers who use violence or force other drivers to join the transport strike.
Guadiz made the warning when he monitored the transport situation in Quezon City on the first day of the transport strike led by the Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide.
“Those who will throw rocks or spill spikes will be arrested. Those who will block roads will also be apprehended, and we have LTO (Land Transportation Office) or LTFRB personnel who will document their license plates. This time, I will suspend their permits,” he said.
“This time, I will cancel franchises,” Guadiz warned.
“To drivers joining the strike, please respect the decision of other drivers who choose to operate during this time, as we respect your right to strike. Do not prevent drivers who want to operate or I will cancel your franchise,” he said.

LTFRB Spokesperson Celine Pialago said that out of 686 vehicles that are on standby to assist commuters, only 66 were deployed.
