The Vigilance sleuths on Friday detected bank deposits and investments in the share market of over Rs.88.26 lakh allegedly made by Arjun Kumar Sahoo, who is posted as Assistant Engineer in Salipur Rural Works Sub-Division of Cuttack district.
Sahoo is now under Vigilance scanner for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets. Till the time of filing of this report, simultaneous house searches were being carried out by the Odisha Vigilance officials on the basis of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
The raids were being carried out at eight places in Khurdha (Bhubaneswar), Cuttack, and Kendrapara districts.
Assets detected so far
A three-storeyed building at Khandagiri Vihar, Bhubaneswar worth approximately Rs.1 crore.
Single-storeyed building at Sadanandapur, Derabis, Kendrapara and 21 plots including one in a prime area of Bhubaneswar and other plots in Kendrapara district.
Senior Vigilance officials informed that cash worth Rs 5, 45,040 was also recovered during the raid.
