The video of the primary school girl selling maize pulled many at their heartstrings, with many well-wishers launching a search for her to offer help.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is the latest well-wisher to express interest in uplifting the life of the young girl, according to his latest social media post.

The parliamentarian narrated how the girl’s plight swept him back to his childhood days when he also had to fend for his family by selling chang’aa after school.

“This Girl leaves Kisiwa Primary School in Thika every evening to sell boiled maize by the roadside, which reminds me of when I used to sell Chang’aa every day after school in my whole primary and secondary school life,” he said on X.

He encouraged the young girl, saying she stares at a bright future as he also overcame all odds stacked against him.

“These challenges are temporary, for we serve a living God who is a God of turnaround. Someone get me this girl’s contact information, please. I want to sponsor her education and give her parents money to start a business,” he said.

As reported, after her video went viral, well-wisher Karangu Muraya shared photos of his interactions with the school-going girl after locating her.

She looked happy after being traced by the well-wisher, who also took her shopping.

Kenyans continued to send their financial contributions towards helping the girl in her time of need.
