What did Muigai say about Kenya’s leadership?

In a statement on her Facebook account, the Nakuru senator’s daughter questioned the future of the country following the withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024.

Muigai lamented that little has changed since the country elected its current leaders.

She further criticised the Kenya Kwanza regime for imposing heavy taxation on Kenyans, making life unbearable for them.

“NO!! It’s been 2 years. How many of you have closed businesses? Why are taxes used to attack businesses? How many people have borrowed money from people to clear an arrear or sort something? I am one of them. How many people are finding it hard to survive every day?” she said.

She offered her perspective on what the country needed to get back on the right track. She expressed that while she had a lot of hope, she feels that some leaders have let Kenyans down.

“We need to do elections again and start all over. I had so much hope but I feel we have been failed by some leaders if not all.”

Nelson Havi asks Ruto to dissolve parliament

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi urged President William Ruto to consider a complete overhaul of the country’s political administration.

He requested that Ruto reconstitute the quorum-deficient Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), dissolve the National Assembly, and call for fresh elections.

This suggestion came after he noticed that Kenyans who were upset by the Finance Bill 2024 were not satisfied with the president’s decision to reject it.

Havi asserted that he was certain Kenyans wanted a regime change.
