‘He didn’t look happy’: O’Hara says what’s happening with Tottenham star & Ange is ‘strange’ after 1-1

by precious2192

Tottenham Hotspur failed to capitalise and move into fourth spot in the Premier League table on Tuesday night when they recorded a 1-1 draw against West Ham United.

Even though Brennan Johnson opened the scoring for Ange Postecoglou’s side after just five minutes, it wasn’t too long before the home team levelled the scores through Kurt Zouma.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was questioned again because it seemed as though West Ham United targeted him from corners for that equalising goal.

In a typical London derby, where it was cagey, aggressive, and both teams giving it all.

There wasn’t clear chance after clear chance for both sides, that’s why keeping your best players on the pitch was paramount.

James Maddison started the game for Tottenham, but just like the weekend win over Luton Town and for the past few weeks, he was hooked off by his manager.

Before his injury, many were arguing that the 27-year-old was one of the best players in the Premier League.

Yet, fast forward to the present, and he can’t even finish 90 minutes of football. Surely, this has nothing to do with fitness now because he had enough games to get over that.

Jamie O’Hara has labelled that situation involving the Tottenham playmaker as ‘strange’ and questioned why Postecoglou keep doing that, as he told talkSPORT.

He also highlighted how Maddison ‘didn’t look happy’ when he was being subbed off at the London Stadium.

James Maddison’s substitution

“Maddison taken off again,” said O’Hara. “He didn’t look happy. He’s not one of them to throw his toys out of the pram, I don’t think, Maddison. He holds himself quite well when he gets dragged.

“But he doesn’t look the happiest getting taken off. It’s a strange one, for me. In a game like that, when the games opening up at the end, you saw it, it was a basketball match.

“Maddison is the kind of guy you want on the ball in a moment where you need one killer pass. Kulusevski come on and he’s lacking, the subs didn’t change the game. He (Postecoglou) keeps making changes and I get it. You want fresh legs, but why Maddison every week? I don’t get it.”

Tottenham’s race for fourth

This is going to be seen as dropped points because these are the types of games you want to be winning, especially with Spurs yet to play the Premier League’s title-chasing trio.

Tottenham are now two points behind Aston Villa having played the same number of games.

But Unai Emery’s side now face a very tricky trip to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

This is where Spurs are going to need a favour from the Premier League champions because, three points for Man City, and destiny will be back in Tottenham’s hands again in the race for Champions League football.
