Kieran Quilligan investigation upgraded to murder inquiry

Gardaí investigating the discovery of the remains of Kieran Quilligan have upgraded their probe to a murder inquiry.

The remains, found in a shallow grave last Monday, were confirmed to be those of Mr Quilligan following a post-mortem examination.

The remains of the 47-year-old were found in Rostellan, Co Cork after Gardaí carried out a planned search with a cadaver dog.

Mr Quilligan was last seen in Cork city centre on Friday September 1st 2023 at around 9:30pm.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who has any information on his murder to contact them.
